Although (at least) I felt very attracted to the tiny awry building and the extraordinary flair the pub emitted, we couldn’t actually stay there for longer than five minutes. Not only that the pub was very crowded but also the audience was rather… hm… let’s say: mature. But at the latest as we heard “Memphis Pete” and his country fellows, even myself that still was indulging in medieval nostalgia, had to admit that “The Old Man & Scythe” may possibly not be the place to be for three young German students. So we stepped out the door and breathed the indefinable musty fresh air of the wrongly promising night. As we started to make our way back with slightly hanging shoulders, Sandra suddenly had an enlightening thought (you know every dog has its day – just kidding ;) ). So we followed Sandra’s suggestion and went to the students union where we unawarely met our Leipzig compatriots who invited us to a poker evening and everything turned out very well – happy end.
